Program: The Louis Dreyfus Story- Why Claypool, by Ryan Martin. Mr Martin said that the company is responsible for 10 % of all world product trade flow, with a presence in over 100 companies and 72 offices. The company feeds and clothes 500 million people a day. The company is the world’s largest cotton and rice trader, 2nd in sugar, 3rd in coffee and one of the biggest in OJ, apples and fertilizer. The Claypool facility is the largest of its kind in North America. The clay pool site was chosen because of the railroad and superiority of beans from this region. Products from the plant include biodiesel, food grade glycerine and soybean meal.
Committee Reports/Announcements: 1) It’s time for the Car Show! Mark your calendars for May 20. See Alan and Jenny Lucht for details. 2) Andrew O’Connell needs help filling our two teams for the Community Quiz Bowl March 20 at Warsaw Community High School from 7-9 pm. This supports the Warsaw Education Foundation. 3) There will be an all you can eat spaghetti dinner March 17 from 11am to 3pm, in support of the Cub Scouts, at United Methodist Church. 4) Rick Kerlin needs help with the Riley Children’s Hospital phone bank from 7:30 am to 9 am on March 16.
Troy Akers presented Student of the Week, from Warsaw High School. Recipients were Allison Ulery, Karleigh Warren, Abigail Wilson, Hope Strunk, Charlotte Grandon, Adreana Heiman, Evyn Mangun and Grace Miller.
