Program:  Jim Reeve from our club presented this morning.  He shared his passion and interest in model trains with videos and photos from his collection.  Thank you Jim!

Committee Reports/Announcements:

  • Safe Assured Sign Up is going around.  The date is this weekend Saturday, September 10th from 11-3pm.  Please let Missy Mitchell know if you can help her from 1-3pm.  
  • Octagon Club doing fundraiser, pumpkin project.
  • David Robertson is looking for help on 9/30 at Harrison Elementary from 9am-2pm with Back 2 the Days.
  • Gina Voelz announced Art In The Park will be held on 9/24 from 10am-1pm at Center Park.  Which is also her birthday!  Please let her know if you are available to help out.
  • YAP Clothing Drive-Jen Kerns announced.
  • Red Out September-wear Red Optimist shirts.
  • Jim Hayes announced that they have 4 quarter page ad spots left in the Directory, let him know if you are interested ASAP!
  • John Teevan shared some interesting facts about his high school and another attendant who was a grade higher than him.  Be sure to ask him about it!

Members Honored:  Cyril (Fred) Nieter, Don Reinholt, Ivan Schuler and Don Kenipe were all recognized and honored as Korean War Vets.  Thank you so much for your service gentlemen!
