Announcements:

  • John Sullivan gave an update and thanked all of the Optimist volunteers for stepping up and helping with the District Convention that was held in Warsaw over the weekend. Ot Schroeder recognized John and his wife for all of their efforts in preparing food and organizing the Registration and Hospitality Room.
  • The 2014-2015 Optimist Directory will underway soon. New pictures will be taken Aug. 6th-Sept 3rd. Ads are due by September 10th. Update Member Information deadline is Sept. 17th. Committee & Project info due by Sept. 17th. Please see Dr. Jason Rich and Jim Hayes for more information.
  • The 24th Annual Car Truck & Motorcycle Show presented by Baker Youth Club will be Saturday, August 23rd from 12pm-6pm. All proceeds goes back to BYC and their after school programs. They are looking for Optimist Volunteers to help with their big event. If you are interested talk to Tracy Furnivall.

No checks presented this morning, however, Jenny Lucht shared a funny Presidential joke with the group that had everyone laughing!

Program:

Juergen Voss and Mark Skibowski presented the Lake City Skiers this morning. Lake City Skiers are a competitive water ski show team that performs two weekly shows on Hidden Lake in Warsaw throughout the summer. The shows are FREE, family oriented ski shows that are guaranteed to make you laugh, ooh and aah! The Lake City Skiers are celebrating 25 years of providing fun, family entertainment this year!

They have shows scheduled for: August 17th, 24th and 31st. Make sure you take your family to see what a great show they put on for our community!
