89 Optimists & 1 guest attended our meeting. Kelsi Griffith was the guest of John Elliott.
Door Greeters: Steve Albertson and Sam Whitaker.
Prayer was offered by Tony Ciriello.
Pledge was given to the American flag.
Promise yourself was said in unison.
Martin Becker led us as we sang “Hail to Optimism.”
Birthday Honoree: Richard Tuttle. Martin Becker led us in the birthday song with varied results.

Prayer Requests: Chuck Kanes’s wife Sally.
Jim Nesbitt’s recovery from heart surgery. The doctors are cautiously optimistic. His medications have been reduced. He has a long recovery in front of him.
Luke Becknell and his family at Deb’s passing.

Membership: Lt. Gov. Sam Whitaker read Karen Kauffman’s and Kelsi Griffith’s applications. Karen is being sponsored back into our club by Dr. Steven Hollar. Past President John Elliott sponsored Kelsi.

On June 27th we will meet at the Center Lake Pavilion.
There is no meeting July 4th.

Everett Nifong reported $8,826.70 was raised at our Golf Outing. Last year $8,040.20 was raised.

Past Gov. Ron Donkers and Luke Becknell, reminded us that our Triathlon is THIS Saturday, June 23rd. We have 523 registered.
Ron thanked those who worked on building bike racks in the past few weeks.
Past President Jeff Owens thanked Mike Cusick for stepping up and chairing the swim part of our Triathlon.
Thanks go to Ron Donkers, Luke Becknell, and Doug Jones for all their long hours of planning and logistics to make our race a success. Also thanks to our members who work hard putting the day together. Many of our members work TWO jobs that morning.

Sheriff of Attendance: Bill Landrigan and Harry Gigous greeted Tonya Douglass, Yolanda Hedington, and Tracy Horrell. Past President Jeff Owens led us in a well delivered round of applause to Bill & Harry for their success in getting us to club meetings.

Optimist District Fundraiser: Ryan Harper is selling $5 raffle tickets for a 32” LCD TV. Proceeds go to our Optimist District.

Past Lt. Gov. Dr. David Haines did a super job taking our pictures today.

Sergeants-at-Arms: Luke Becknell and Bob Jackson entertained us.
Don Kenipe’s grandson Bryan Kenipe visited last weekend. Maybe we can get him stationed here, we could use the rain.
Bill Landrigan’s granddaughter, Kristin Quick is the Mermaid Festival’s Queen of the Lakes.
Martin Becker announced that Bryce Lippe won the Mermaid Festival’s talent show.
Past President George Brennan is celebrating his 2nd grandchild.
Past Lt. Gov. Dr. David Haines’ granddaughter, Julie Frazzetta, won the American Legion Award at Edgewood.
Past Lt. Gov. Denny and Millie Andrews had several kids graduate: granddaughter graduated from high school, another granddaughter graduated from college, and his daughter graduated from college. In addition Denny is recovering from an alpaca incident.
David Turner lost his seahorse in an unrelated incident after he successfully operated on it.
Ann Sweet will be a volunteer at a Kobe Bryant basketball camp.

50/50: Greg Kralis won $46.

Video Editor Jim Hayes showed us a video of a fearless toddler at the zoo with a lion. Jim also showed us a video of the luckiest people in the world. These people won more than the lottery. They walked away from their close calls.

Program:
We assembled Triathlon welcome bags at our meeting. Then those who were available finished them off at Past Gov. Ron Donkers’ and Past President George Brennan’s storage building.
