A moment of silence was held in honor of the four men killed in plane crash, our brother and friend from club, Tony Elliot, Scott Bibler, Charlie Smith and his son Scott Smith.

Announcements:

  • Indiana Bicentennial will be next year. They are looking for torch bearers to carry the torch.  The person nominated should show public service, achievement, acts of heroism, and volunteer service within the community.  Please let Rick Kerlin know if you have a nomination for this role.  It would be great to have a Warsaw Breakfast Optimist involved for this!
  • Reminder, Oct. 10th District Meeting in Kokomo, IN. See Michele Bickel if you are interested in attending.
  • Trace Hansen announced Sk8 Camp on Oct. 17th from 6-8pm and he needs 4 volunteers.
  • Jen Pyle reminded everyone that the Chamber Taste & Trade EXPO is this weekend and also added Mark Dobson’s farewell reception will be held at the chamber tonight.

    • Ot Schroeder recognized the Octagon club for their Fall Displays fundraiser this year. They sold 100 compared to 58 last year.  He wanted to thank those members who purchased displays. Way to go!

    • Tim Hamman had two, one for his step son playing football and scoring 2 touchdowns. And two, his store is celebrating their 1 Year Anniversary and he is having a sale, buy one suit and get another one ½ off!
    • Larry Bishop brought the 4H Shooting sports trailer that our club helped buy, please go check it out after the meeting this morning.
    • Marty Becker reminded everyone that the Symphoney of Lakes will be playing Saturday at 7pm, Heros.

 Program:

Scott Gabriel, President of Parkview Hospital Whitley and Parkview Warsaw presented this morning.  He shared some of the ongoing, current and future projects they are undergoing.  The Warsaw complex is projecting to be open January 21st for Patient Care.  Thank you for sharing Scott!
