Announcements:

Rich Haddad introduced the WCHS golf team members (listed above) noting that they are currently 5-0 in the conference and that the varsity team has just won 3 invitationals in a row.

Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial moving wall museum will be in Warsaw May 31 to June 1. Travis McConnell asked for volunteers to help with setup and/or security duty. Setup will be May 31 at 8:30 a.m. To volunteer or if you have questions, please contact Travis.

Dr. Jenny Lucht announced Car Show will be held Sunday rain or shine. $12,000 in sponsorships have been raised for the event. Anyone helping with setup, be there at 7 a.m.

 Triathlon: Paula Deming – Volunteers are still needed for the upcoming triathlon on June 30th. 

Club 60th Birthday Party, to be held the evening of September 26 at the Winona Heritage Room. Flashback photo of the day was Art Gakstatter’s ’58 Corvette, which will be on display at the event.

Wanted: New editors for the Optibullette! Please contact Steve Hollar or Lisa Mahan if you would be interested in this position. It’s a great way to get to know club members and learn about all the club has to offer.

President: There was a tie between Dr. Pam Galloway and Mitch Goon. A special election for the office of President will be held at next week’s meeting.

Check Presentations: There were no formal check presentations. President Steve Hollar reported $200 was given to Greater Cooperative Preschool and $400 was given to WCHS as a grant for the historical drama team to cover their contest entry fees.

Program: The Cole Porter Festival – Peru, Indiana by John Kirk

John Kirk shared a brief history of Cole Porter from his birth in Peru, Indiana to his career in writing songs, lyrics, and musicals. Kirk also presented information about The Cole Porter Festival to be held from June 7-10. This is the 27th year for the festival that will include a schedule of various events including a wine tasting, a showing of the movie “High Society”, bus tours multi-media presentations, and more.
