Don Krouse from Midwest Poultry Services presented about the Good Egg Project this morning (https://www.incredibleegg.org). He shared a lot of information about their operation and the cycle of how eggs get into the stores. Some interesting facts include:
- In 1940 one farmer fed 19 people, today one farmer will feed 150 people.
- The sell by date on an egg carton is 30 from when the egg was laid.
- Eggs will keep in the refrigerator approximately 3 months.
- Last year MPS donated 63,000 dozen eggs to local and surrounding community food banks.
Great job and thank you for sharing with us!
