Warsaw Breakfast Optimist, September 27, 2023

Club President Chris Plack closed out his year of service as President by presiding over an awards ceremony. Thank you Chris for your excellent leadership over the past year!
Charlie Wagner, being vertically challenged, chose to stand on a chair as he greeted the Club as our incoming President!

Announcements

  • Mickey Smethers is @ Peabody Rehab and looking to going home soon
  • The first round of Fall Displays were placed last weekend, more to go out next weekend, still need a few people to help deliver this upcoming weekend. Still need to sell 20 more displays to reach our goal of 200 delivered

Membership – David Byers had his third reading today

50-50 – $45 to Lester Pierce

Charlie Wagner, incoming President, outgoing scorer of Sergeant Interns, gave himself a score of “5” for his performance as the last Sergeant Intern for the year.

Sergeants – Over $2000.00 has been raised over the past year for the Optimist Scholarship Fund by the Sergeants. Charlie Wagner was our “intern” Sergeant for the day.

Program – Presidents Award program. Retiring Board Members were recognized. Perfect attendance was also acknowledged. Jim Hayes was honored for his service for taking care of the “technical” aspects of the club. Jennifer Doorman and Austin Donovan were also identified for their service as Secretary and Treasurer.

Joe Thallemer received the first ever “John Elliott Buckeye Award”
Jim Smith was the recipient of the “Pillar of the Community” award
Randy Robinson was selected as the “Rookie of the Year”
Jeff Owens is our “Optimist of the Year”

Year-End Awards were given to:
