Triathlon Event UPDATE.
Virtual Warsaw Optimist Sprint Triathlon
After careful consideration and deliberation, due to the ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing recommendations from Governor Holcomb, we have decided to convert the June 27, 2020 Warsaw Optimist Spirit Triathlon to a virtual event. We feel that this decision is best for the health of our community, participants, supporters, volunteers and sponsors of the event. Thank you to those who have shown support to the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club and our events through the years. Virtual Warsaw Optimist Sprint Triathlon Each participant must complete the entire swim, bike, run (Kayak, bike, run) (Relay teams) during one setting. If a participant does not have access to a body of water or pool to complete the swim portion then they can complete a duathlon (2mile run, 14 mile bike and 3.1 mile run). This virtual event gives participants the freedom to complete the race at a time and location of their choice, thus reducing participant-to-participant contact. Participants must time themselves and then submit their finish time and proof of time and distance (such as a screenshot of their timing app or GPS watch) on ACTIVE.com Results.
While many spring and early summer events have canceled due to COVID-19 we hope the virtual Optimist Sprint Triathlon will encourage you to continue to work hard and achieve your goals this season. The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club is reviewing options with a local business to provide an opportunity to compete in a running event this October in Winona Lake, IN, as a great way to end a season of hard work. Save the date for next year The Optimist Club is a not for profit that donates all proceeds of this race to our youth outreach programs in our community and we are well known in our area for our support of many youth oriented activities. Please feel free to investigate our website for a full list of these events. |
