>>>> PROGRAM:
John Elliott spoke about how his interest in golf
began when he and his brother learned to caddy in
Sylvania, OH. John was awarded a Chick Evans
Scholarship for golf at Ohio State University. He
was active at the university and had the opportunity
to watch Chick Evans play. At the end of the day
Chick Evans gave John his putter. John keeps
the note from Chick on his wall at work where he
can be reminded of the gift. John tries to extend
the gift by encouraging other young people. He
helps to raise money for students, promotes a
caddy program at Stonehenge, and assists in the
Western Open, the Western Am and Western Jr.
Chick Evans legacy lives on in the lives of young
people today.
