83 Optimists & 6 guests attended our meeting: Mayor Ernest Wiggins our program; Mark Dobson guest of Trina Hoy; John Ames & David King guests of Sam Whitaker; Sophie Lancaster guest of Jim Lan-caster; Lynne LaFollette guest of Scott Whitaker. Door Greeters: Steve Albertson & Lyle Enyeart. Prayer was offered by Henry Church. Pledge was given to the American Flag. Promise yourself was said in unison. Birthday Honorees: Trace Hansen, Ron Chambers, Past Gov. Ron Donkers, & Craig Nayrocker. Martin Becker led us as we sang to our-selves with off results. Mystery Person: Dr. Jenny Lucht reported 16 people shook her hand.

Sherriff Bill Landrigan was successful getting 83 of us here today. Our attendance is up! Some atten-dees were Lyle Enyeart, Tom Kline, & Stacey Cox.
Everett Nifong has Stonehenge Golf Outing applica-tions. The event is June 17. Cost is $360 per four-some. Everett can match you to others. Dave Meier is donating Penguin Point dinners for the last place team. Everyone can play. Dave Illingsworth is donat-ing the hole in one car. Mike Cusick is collecting door prizes and goody bags for our golf outing. Cash to-wards prizes is also welcome.
Trace Hansen is looking for a set-up & tear-down head & a volunteer coordinator for Safe Assured.
Call George Brennan if you want to golf 6/19 at the Middlebury Club’s outing. Cost is $60 per person.
May 22 Car Show: John Elliott reported almost $6000 has been raised so far. Wal-mart donated $50 to our show. All systems are go!
Scott Whitaker recognized those who worked our Respect for Law day, especially Lynne LaFollette for her work registering the kids & Sherriff Rocky Goshert for use of the jail & the meals.
Denny Andrews thanked those who assembled new bike racks. The new bike racks were donated at great expense by Indiana Vac Form. When you see them, say thanks. Do not forget our Triathlon is 6/26. 257 are registered so far.
President Sam Whitaker told us that we gave through our board to: 4-H shooting sports, Little League, Golf team, Beamon Home, & the Ski team.
Sam also recognized Jim Hayes & Fred Nieter for their work at each of our meetings.
Stacey Cox saluted: John Barrett, who joined in 2009, is our Sergeant-at-Arms & has sold Christmas trees. Don Reinholt, who joined in 1982, has 27 years perfect attendance, is on our Scholarship Committee, has sold Christmas trees & worked our Trithlon. Don is past Vice President, board member, & treasurer. Next week Stacey will salute Jim Wal-mer & Dr. Joe Thallemer.
Sergeant-at-Arms: John Barrett, Lyle Enyeart, & Merl Heckaman. John Barrett reminded us of the Indiana Supreme Court’s agreement with Judge Joe Sutton. John also reminded us of Sam Whitaker’s investigative prowess. Art Gakstatter did a parking demonstration at Respect for Law. Mitch Goon’s kids & Dr. David Haines’ grandkids did very well in the track meet. 50/50: Ot Schroeder won.

Program: Mayor Ernie Wiggins reported the Parker Street project may be done by fall. DuBois Street may become one-way going West. Brookview may be closed at Parker Street. This system will probably help with the Parker Street congestion at US 30.
