Luke Becknell announced we will start collecting money for gifts for the kids at the Boys & Girls Club. We can also sign up to buy gifts for kids. Trace Han-sen is donating skating passes & North Point Cinema is donating movie passes.
Angie Tom asked us to sign up to work the Santa House. This year it is downtown the 1st weekend of December & at K-Mart the next 2 weekends. Thanks to Art Gakstatter & his helpers for moving it twice as often this year. Angie, Jane Greene, Tammy Keirn, Trina Hoy, & Cathy Mullett are organizing the house.
Help is needed tomorrow at 3pm to move the house downtown.
Owen’s is donating $5 per Christmas Tree we sell the 1st 3 weekends after Thanksgiving. Sam Whitaker thanked those who helped set up. He is looking for volunteers to sell trees at Owens East.
Merl Heckaman recognized those who rang the bell for the Salvation Army.
Past Gov. Ron Donkers delivered Optimist Pins to those who purchased them.
Coach Jim Kessler thanked those who helped raise $2000 at the Hoops For Hope Tournament for the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.
Martin Becker invited all to the free Grace Holiday Concert at 7:30pm on December 10 at Rodeheaver.
Our Optimist Singers will perform with the Grace Col-lege Community Wind Ensemble, the Chain O Lakes Barbershop Chorus, & the Holiday Brass Ensemble.
Our Optimist Singers will sing at our December 22 meeting and at 7am at BMacs on December 24th.
Sergeant-at-Arms: Past Pres. Jeff Owens, Past Pres. Max Mock, Past Lt Gov Denny Andrews, Past Lt Gov Dr David Haines entertained us. Past Pres. John Elliott is happy that Ohio beat Michigan. Pur-due fans paid up. John Teevan is looking forward to Grace playing Bethel tonight. Dr. Steve Hollar was found in ESPN the Magazine’s 25th anniversary of Hoosiers. 50/50: Dr. Steve Hollar won $31.
