Birthday Honorees: Doug Ogle & Jerry Clevenger. Bill Landrigan led us as we sang the birthday song with good results. Mystery Person: Past Lt. Gov. Denny Andrews reported 7 people shook his hand.

David King asked us to donate things for Cub Scout Pack 3715 to auction 9/18 at Kerlin’s on US 30 East.
Dave Meier announced the Penguin Point / Optimist Big Wheel Race is 8/7 downtown.
Trace Hansen needs volunteers to work our Safe As-sured ID booth at the Family Safety Day at Center Lake Park on Sept 11. Over 100 people were en-rolled each of the last 3 years. Shifts are available.
Cardinal Services: Jay Tate, reported this years Duck Race is July 31. Adopt a duck for $5. If we WIN, Sam will wear the duck suit at OUR meeting! Tracy Horrell presented Jay with $500 from our board.
Pres. Sam Whitaker reported:
1) Art Gakstatter drove 6 of our members to visited the Wabash club July 14,
2) Charles Neuwirth has agreed to give us $5 for the Christmas trees Owens sells. We will load them,
3) Deb Miller is working on bringing the 2013 district meeting to Warsaw.
Car Show: Past President John Elliott asked all who worked this year’s show to stay after our August 4th meeting for a wrap up meeting about what went well and what we can improve on. We need to make “how to” instructions for future years.
President Sam Whitaker reported that Jeff Neumann is moving to Blufton. Joel Wihebrink has stepped up to be next year’s president. We are looking for a new president-elect. Tell a board member if you are interested.
Andrew Swihart presented Scott Erba $500 from our board for the Lady Tiger Run.
Lt. Gov. Jim Reeve asked us to let Jennifer Dorman know if we are going to our District meeting 8/7 at Bear Creek.
Luke Becknell invited us to cycle for Cystic Fibro-sis in his “2 Bourbon & Back” on 9/11. www.becknell.org
Stacey Cox saluted: President-elect Jeff Neumann, who joined in 2004, has 2 years perfect attendance, is past Sergeant-at-Arms, & board member, has worked Triathlon, Art in the Park, and sold Christmas Trees. We will miss his humor as he moves to Blufton. Past Pres. Dr. Charles Hollar, who joined in 1967, has 35 years perfect attendance, is past 2 time Optimist of the Year, past 3 time Sergeant-at-Arms, past board member, & has worked all our projects. Next week Stacey will salute Trace Hansen & Dr. Jenny Lucht.
Sergeant-at-Arms: Lyle Enyeart collected happy dollars from us. Bill Landrigan is proud of his grand-son , Kyle Quick’s Harper Character Award. Dave Illingworth invited us to see several NASCAR drivers 7/22 from 5 to 7pm. Jerry Clevenger won our 50/50.
