Bill Katip, Bailey Weathers, & Al Grossnickle were the guests of Pete Gano; Amanda Scroggs was the guest of John Teevan; TS Shamu was the guest of KT Kishan; Allie Haberman was the guest of Steve Haberman; & Jeremiah Heierman was the guest of Trina Hoy.

Ron Chambers reported on the good visit to the Plymouth Club yesterday.
Vice-President, Angie Tom announced our Awards Banquet will be at Stonehenge at 6pm on Sept 28. There will be no morning meeting.
Bill Landrigan & John Burtoft invited us to the Right To Life Banquet on Sept 26 at 6 p.m. at the Orthopaedic Capital Center. Tickets are $20. See Bill or John.
Sherriff of Attendance, Bill Landrigan, is rightly proud of his results. We have had over 70 here for weeks.
Vice-President, Angie Tom, reminded us that Christmas is coming. This means the Santa House is coming. Keep the set-up, take-down & operation in mind. It will be open Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays.
Our Optimist Singers will perform Oct. 16 at Warsaw’s Got Talent.
Video Editor: Jim Hayes played videos. One featured Peyton Manning encouraging people to spend time with their kids. The other showed the folly of walking on run-a-way treadmills.

Sergeants-at-Arms: Max Mock, Denny Andrews, Jeff Owens & Dr. David Haines entertained us. Dr. David Haines’ granddaughter was the homecoming queen. Bill Landrigan’s granddaughter has been going to early morning Octagon meetings. She is the Octagon President. Patty Donkers noticed that it did rain last Sunday, in spite of Chad Zaucha’s prediction. John Sullivan’s softball team has broken out of their record with TWO wins. Trace Hansen has some Cirque Soleil tickets. We have been blessed to have entertaining Sergeants-at-Arms.
Bart Templeton won our 50/50.
Program: Jim Hocking of Integrated Comminity Development International (ICDI) brought us up to date on water projects in the Central African Republic & the Congo. ICDI provides relief, equips community development, & empowers economic development. ICDI works for an enterprise solution to poverty. ICDI provides equipment & experience to help locals build wells to develop a sense of self reliance & accomplishment. The goal is sustainable transitions.
A large part of ICDI’s work is providing wells to villages without water. In one village people walk over an hour 3 times a day to get the water they need to drink & cook. ICDI has drilled 80 wells & rehabbed 97 wells in the last 6 months. A touching story is of a village that Jim has tried several times to drill a well to no advantage. He went back with better equipment this summer & they succeeded! The people in that village were moved that he kept coming back & trying again over the years.
One dollar provides water for one year to a central African.
At this time ICDI needs 9 IPADs with software & dustproof cases to help the locals on the ground. Each equipped IPAD costs $750.
