Anders, Roe Advance To Next Level Of Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contest

Sunday, March 27th, 2022 the Club held its annual oratorical contest in the courtroom of the Kosciusko County Courthouse, Warsaw.

The contest is just one way the club continues to support the youth of the community, according to a news release from the Optimists.

Four local students who spoke of “Staying Optimistic in Challenging Times” competed in the speech event. The two winners of Sunday’s event will advance to the next level of the contest.

Placing first was Kylee Anders, daughter of Kathryn Anders, Warsaw. Griffin Roe, son of Lori and Terrance Roe, Warsaw, received second-place honors. Anders and Roe were challenged by Dailyn Stemen and Isaac Stemen, also of Warsaw.

The Breakfast Optimist Club has partnered with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce to award prizes of $500 and $250 in Chamber Bucks to the Club’s top finishers.

This event was made possible with the support of Grace College and professor Patrick Loebs and four of his marketing students, who acted as judges for the event.

Anders and Roe will have the opportunity to compete at the next level of the oratorical contest.
