Safe Assured ID: Trace Hansen thanked the opti-mist & Octagon volunteers who enrolled 21 kids at the Taste & Trade Expo last Saturday.
Trina Hoy thanked our Optimist Singers and Safe Assured ID for participating in the Taste & Trade Expo at Grace’s Orthopaedic Capital Center.
Lt. Gov. Jim Reeve invited us to the District Meeting on Oct. 29 & 30 at the Warsaw Ramada. Help is needed for registration Friday night and Saturday morning. Saturday starts at 7:30am.
Angie Tom asked us to bring our calendars next week. We will start signing up to work the Santa House.
Seth Ray, the golf pro at Stonehenge donated $1128 to us from his golf marathon. He played 288 holes in one day.
Past Pres. Jim Nesbitt reported the College Optimist Club will sell calendars for around $8 in November.

Art Gakstatter is looking for help with the downtown Spooktackular, Oct. 29. Help is needed for various jobs from 5pm through the evening. Activities are: registration 5:30pm to 6pm, trick or treat 6pm to 7pm, costume judging 7pm to 7:30pm. Please call art at 265-1010.
Sergeant-at-Arms: Jeff Owens, Max Mock, & Denny Andrews entertained us. Those of us who forgot to wear our lapel pins paid. Dr. Steve Hollar’s daughter Meredith scored 5 goals in one soccer match. Pete Gano reported we can buy $10 cou-pons to Elder Beermans for $5 to benefit the Chain of Lakes Men’s Chorus. Past President Sam Whitaker was in the paper as an Optimist. Ken Anderson’s son is engaged. Dave Turner’s son is practicing law. Rick Kerlin’s daughter is cleared for all activity. Dot Nieter is recovering from knee sur-gery. Dr. Jon Lippe finished his Ph.D. dissertation. Bill Landrigan’s grandson, Kyle, procured the pig for Troy Akers at last week’s football game.

Program: Mark Dobson, President of the Warsaw Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce told us of the 5 key goals of our chamber: Advocate for our communities good in Indianapolis and Washington. Economic Development through ―Jump Start‖ entre-preneurism. Membership Benefits like health insur-ance discounts. Networking at things like Business After Hours. Business Counseling and Education through activities like S.C.O.R.E. that our own John Crum was active in. Mark enjoys working in our community. He says it has Fortune 500 energy with a home town flair. We agree!
