The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, in conjunction with Kosciusko County Sheriff, Rocky Goshert, Warsaw Police Chief, Scott D. Whitaker, and local police agencies will be providing children and teenagers ages6 – 16 with the opportunity to see various aspects of the law enforcement system on Saturday, May 12,2012.
The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 2:00 p.m. at the old courthouse located on the third floor at 100 W. Center Street, Warsaw, Indiana.
All children must be checked in prior to parents / guardians departure.
The day’s events will include instruction in
- How to take fingerprints
- Crime scene investigation
- Self defense tactics
- Use of police dogs
- The use of firearms along with the proper use of a taser gun
Each participant will have the opportunity to sit in a police vehicle and observe the equipment available to officers while on patrol. Lunch will be served along with a guided tour of the 911 emergency center and the Kosciusko County Jail.
The day’s event will be limited to the first 100 registrants.
