82 Optimists & 19 guests attended our meeting.  Rod Miller was the guest of John Sullivan; Dan Metzger & Ryan Harper were the guests of Scott Whitaker; Mike Foreman & Ron Henry were the guests of the club; Cindy Zortman was the guest of Ken Zortman; Mary Eherenman was the guest of Dr. David Haines; Karleen Brennan was the guest of George Brennan; Nancy McGlothin was the guest of Steve McGlothin; Vicky Owens & Rae Hilliard were the guests of Jeff Owens; Sierra Derrossett was the guest of Lecia Derrossett; Betsy Voss was the guest of Juergen Voss; Sharon Tuttle was the guest of Richard Tuttle; Barbara Gigous was the guest of Harry Gigous; Kathy Titus was the guest of Jerry Titus; & Jack, Joe, & Javier Deeter were the guests of Nick Deeter.

Prayer Request:  Kamden TomAngie & Kyle Tom’s son & Art Gakstatter’s Grandson.  Kamden is back in school half days.  He is getting better.  He may be able to get back on his eye drops soon. 

Membership:  Sam Whitaker read Yolanda Hedington’s, Ryan Harper’s, & Dan Metzger’s applications. Jane Wear sponsored Yolanda & Scott Whitaker sponsored Ryan & Dan.

Sheriff of AttendanceBill Landrigan & Harry Gigous were successful in getting Craig Allebach here 4 weeks in a row!  It was also good to see Troy Tom, Charles Neuwirth, & Dave Meier.

Charles Neuwirth presented a check for $1190.12 for us to Dr. Sandy Engelberth.

Owens East sold 233 Christmas Trees.  Charles & Owens East started a Kroger-wide program of selling trees & giving $5 to local charities.  Our store sold more trees than any of the over 140 stores in the district!

See Harry Gigous or Past Lt. Gov. Ot Schroeder if you want to help take down the Christmas Tree lotFriday as 5 p.m.

Car Show:  Past Pres. John Elliott announced we will have a short planning meeting after our January 4thmeeting.

Jane Wear, thanked all who helped with our Santa House.  Mary Ellen Jordan’s grandson wanted a shopping cart & a vacuum cleaner for himself for Christmas! 

We showed our appreciation to Linda & Beth from Penguin Point.  What friendly helpful people!

Ron Donkers announced that registration is now open for our Triathlon.

Sergeants-at-Arms:  Luke Becknell & Bob Jackson entertained us.  Tonya Welsh got married.  She is now Tonya Douglass.  Nick Deeter had a nice write-up in the Ft. Wayne paper.  Harry & Barbara Gigoushave been married 65 years!  They must have had their grandparents sign for them when they were in kindergarten.  It was noted that Linus from Charlie Brown reads the nativity story every year on TV.  Bob Jackson led us in singing “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”
